Welcome to Kunst, Verein, wagen, Halle.

We, the 150 members of the Kunstverein Wagenhalle e. V., have built up a unique production facility at Stuttgart’s Nordbahnhof station since 2004. The former wagon repair hall and the associated buildings are home to our studios, workshops and storage rooms. The following artistic disciplines are represented here – painting, music, photography, architecture, architectural botany, theater, puppet making, puppet theater, performance, installation, curation, design, graphic and web design, arts and crafts as well as film and media art. This diversity gives rise to intergenerational and interdisciplinary projects.

Since 2020, the project space has served as an extended workspace, exhibition and event venue. It is used for the numerous projects of the Kunstverein’s artists and cultural workers as well as for collaborations with regional and international artists and institutions.

A committee made up of internal artists and external artists/experts from Stuttgart’s art and cultural institutions is responsible for allocating studios. The application form for a studio can be found on our website. The program for the project space is also determined by a committee of internal artists. The application form can be found on our website. The applications will be reviewed by the committee.

The Kunstverein Wagenhalle is financially supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart.
