Since 2004, the Kunstverein Wagenhalle e.V. has developed a unique production facility at Stuttgart’s Nordbahnhof station and, following a comprehensive renovation and expansion, it has established itself permanently as an arts and culture center in Stuttgart starting in 2020. The former railcar repair hall from 1895, the two studio buildings, and the new structure house 96 studios and workshops for 150 artists and cultural practitioners working in the visual and performing arts, music, photography, graphic and web design, arts and crafts, architecture, architectural botany, curatorial practice, as well as film and media art. The project space features a diverse and open program. The KVWH and its members organize a diverse and open program in the project space, play an active role in local neighborhood development, and aim to help shape a vibrant Rosenstein district in the future.

Our „Projektraum“ has been in use since 2020. It serves as a venue for exhibitions and events. With a floor area of 450 square meters, it can accommodate up to 300 people. The „Projektraum“ is used for the numerous projects of the Kunstverein’s artists and cultural practitioners, as well as for collaborations with regional and international artists and institutions. In addition to the institutionally funded program, external events in the fields of culture, education, social issues, and urban development are part of our concept. The event calendar provides information on upcoming events in our „Projektraum“.

The project space and our other exhibition venue, TOR5, are available for rent to external users.
The courtyard and other outdoor areas can be booked upon request and are available for special projects.

The numerous flexible usage options are ideal for a wide variety of event formats such as conferences, seminars, workshops, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, etc.
Art, cultural, social, and educational institutions, non-profit organizations, organizations from the creative and social sectors, as well as public institutions and artists are particularly welcome as event organizers—but so are all others who are a good fit for us.
